(Adnkronos) - La 'variabile' Netanyahu sulla campagna elettorale per le elezioni Usa 2024 preoccupa i Dem. L'offensiva scatenata da Israele contro Hezbollah in Libano e l'attesa rappresaglia contro l'Iran per l'attacco missilistico del primo ottobre promettono di dominare la fase finale della campagna è uno scenario che i democratici speravano di scongiurare e con il quale oggi invece devono fare i conti. Il presidente, Joe Biden, e la vice presidente e candidata alla Casa Bianca, Kamala Harris, auspicavano infatti una de-escalation in Medio Oriente o almeno che nelle ultime settimane della corsa alla presidenza le violenze potessero scendere sotto il livello di guardia, ma le nuove offensive militari israeliane - affermano funzionari statunitensi e collaboratori della campagna democratica - rendono questa speranza praticamente impossibile. Il primo ministro israeliano, infatti, ha di nuovo incendiato la Striscia di Gaza con un'ondata di raid e ha lanciato un'operazione di terra in Libano associata ad attacchi aerei su Beirut volti ad annientare la leadership di Hezbollah. E ora gli occhi di tutti sono concentrati sull'annunciato attacco all'Iran. Secondo la stampa americana, Tel Aviv avrebbe rassicurato che saranno risparmiati obiettivi nucleari e petroliferi, ma funzionari americani non nascondono una certa diffidenza nei confronti delle promesse dello Stato ebraico. Anche la Russia, evidenzia il sito israeliano Ynet, spinge per una risposta limitata di Israele per evitare che la crisi con l'Iran degeneri in una guerra aperta. Questa rapida escalation ha messo in difficoltà l'Amministrazione Biden, con il risultato che gli Stati Uniti hanno prima chiesto un cessate il fuoco immediato in Libano per poi cambiare linea politica nove giorni dopo e sostenere apertamente l'offensiva di terra di Israele. Questo ripensamento ha causato confusione e sgomento tra gli alleati europei e arabi di Washington che chiedono agli Stati Uniti di frenare il loro più stretto alleato in Medio Oriente. Ma l'Amministrazione sembra restia ad arrivare allo scontro con Tel Aviv in un momento politico così delicato. "Vogliono chiaramente evitare qualsiasi scontro pubblico con Netanyahu sul Libano o su Gaza che potrebbe causare una reazione negativa da parte dei sostenitori di Israele prima delle elezioni", ha affermato Frank Lowenstein, alleato di Biden ed ex negoziatore per il Medio Oriente nell'Amministrazione Obama. "Allo stesso tempo, sono sensibili alla perdita di voti in Stati chiave degli arabo-americani", ha aggiunto. La linea 'soft' dell'Amministrazione nei confronti di Netanyahu è emersa nelle recenti dichiarazioni in risposta agli ultimi episodi che hanno suscitato unanime condanna a livello internazionale come gli attacchi di Israele alle forze di peacekeeping delle Nazioni Unite in Libano, il bombardamento dell'ospedale al-Aqsa a Gaza e il rapporto Onu che denuncia come nelle ultime settimane non sia entrato cibo nella parte settentrionale di Gaza. Ogni comunicato di condanna è stato calibrato con attenzione per evitare che suonasse come una brusca rottura con Netanyahu. L'ultimo caso è avvenuto martedì, quando i media israeliani hanno rivelato il contenuto di una lettera riservata del segretario di Stato, Antony Blinken, e del segretario alla Difesa, Lloyd Austin, che esortavano Israele a consentire l'ingresso di più aiuti umanitari a Gaza, minacciando potenziali restrizioni all'assistenza militare statunitense. Nel giro di poche ore dalla sua divulgazione, i portavoce della Casa Bianca e del Dipartimento di Stato hanno chiarito che la lettera "non doveva essere considerata come una minaccia", rimandando in ogni caso qualsiasi potenziale azione punitiva a dopo le elezioni. La crescente violenza in Medio Oriente durante le ultime settimane ha messo in particolare allarme la campagna di Harris, che vede nelle continue immagini di civili uccisi una possibile complicazione sulla strada verso la vittoria in Stati chiave in bilico dove vivono consistenti comunità arabo-americane e musulmane. "È una preoccupazione enorme", ha dichiarato un consigliere della campagna. Tra i Democratici, le preoccupazioni sono particolarmente gravi nel Michigan, dove vivono circa 300mila persone che dichiarano di avere origini nordafricane o mediorientali. I sondaggi mostrano che Harris e l'ex presidente Trump qui sono in parità. Il percorso più chiaro per la vittoria di Harris è negli Stati del 'Blue Wall' del Michigan, della Pennsylvania e del Wisconsin, e la candidata dem ha poche possibilità di arrivare alla presidenza senza vincere lo Stato dei 'wolverines', dove questa settimana terrà cinque eventi in tre giorni. Eppure con l'ingresso in corsa di Harris, i Dem speravano che, sottolineando la sofferenza palestinese, sarebbe riuscita a conquistare una considerevole fetta di elettori arabo-americani e musulmani delusi per l'appoggio dell'Amministrazione a Israele. Ma ottenere il loro sostegno è diventato più difficile man mano che la campagna militare di Israele si è intensificata con il sostegno degli Stati Uniti. L'Amministrazione Biden, dal canto suo, sostiene che si sottovalutino l'impatto che ha avuto nel ridurre la portata dell'invasione di Israele in Libano, nell'aumento del flusso di aiuti umanitari a Gaza e nell'impedire una guerra su vasta scala con l'Iran.

Il nuovo documento, e i suoi contenuti digitali - si legge - sono presentati alla stampa e ai partner di sostenibilità oggi 17 ottobre, a Milano, in una conferenza stampa dedicata. Il Bilancio di Sostenibilità 2022-23 è la seconda edizione di reportistica di sostenibilità per Penny Italia. I percorsi di valore riportati fanno riferimento al periodo compreso tra il 1° gennaio 2022 e 31 dicembre 2023. A fini comparativi sono stati inseriti, laddove disponibili, anche i dati relativi al 2021 e, quando significativi, sono stati inseriti dei focus su progettualità sviluppate nel corso del 2024. Per la redazione del Bilancio di Sostenibilità, Penny si è avvalsa di un gruppo di lavoro interno che ha coinvolto il top management e le diverse funzioni aziendali, le quali hanno contribuito attivamente alla definizione dei temi materiali e alla raccolta dei dati e di tutte le informazioni necessarie alla redazione del reporting. Le informazioni presentate nel Bilancio sono state definite assumendo come riferimento metodologico i 'Gri Sustainability Reporting Standards', aggiornati al 2021, emanati dalla Global Reporting Iniziative (Gri), associazione internazionalmente riconosciuta che si occupa dello sviluppo di standard di reporting di sostenibilità. "Abbiamo introdotto il nostro modello di governance della sostenibilità - dice Paola Monica Dimaggio, Sustainability Manager per Penny - con l’obiettivo di rafforzare e rendere ancora più trasparente l'imprescindibile legame tra l'impegno alla sostenibilità e le strategie di business, in un percorso sempre più concreto che riguarda tutti noi e che ci tocca sempre più da vicino”.
